Forty years ago, everything began with a simple yet extraordinary commitment.
In an era when production was largely done by hand, Madam Ng Giew Poh relied on her unyielding determination to start from the very basics—making koay teow. With no abundant resources and no established path to follow, she depended on daily experimentation and refinement. From selecting the rice and grinding it into batter to the steaming process, every detail was handled personally…

As a manufacturer with our own production facility, Eco Fresh maintains direct control over the quality and consistency of every Koay Teow and Chili Boh product we produce.

From local eateries and hawker stalls to established restaurants, hotels and food manufacturers, Eco Fresh proudly supplies quality food products to businesses throughout Penang.

From selecting the rice and grinding it into batter to the steaming process, every detail was handled personally. To her, making food was not merely a means of livelihood, but a promise to uphold conscience and quality.
The early days were far from easy. To achieve greater consistency and better taste, she carried out repeated trials; to earn customers’ trust, she personally visited markets. Each batch of koay teow was more than just a product—it carried her dedication to quality and gradually built a reputation of her own.
As time went on, the company steadily found its footing and embraced new opportunities for growth. Around fifteen years ago, it began producing chilli sauce. From the careful selection of ingredients to the formulation of recipes, every step continued to be completed in-house, preserving an authentic and reassuring taste. The aroma of chilli and the texture of koay teow complemented one another, becoming a familiar and trusted pairing on many customers’ tables.
Throughout its journey, the company has remained committed to the principle: “Only what we make ourselves can truly be trusted.” All products are manufactured in-house and strictly comply with Halal certification requirements as well as Ministry of Health standards. Every ingredient used is safety-certified. For us, food must not only be delicious, but also give consumers complete peace of mind.
Today, the company has grown into a food enterprise integrating production, wholesale, and retail. In addition to koay teow and chilli sauce, we supply a wide range of noodles and related products, including mee tai mak, yee mee, claypot noodles, wanton noodles, mee sua, rice vermicelli, yellow noodles, as well as bean sprouts, tofu, firm tofu, tofu puffs, fried shallots, and more—continuing to provide customers with stable and diverse choices.
From one person’s perseverance, to the growth of a factory, to the stable enterprise it is today—the journey over these forty years has not been easy, but every step has been steady and resolute. Now at the age of 67, Madam Ng Giew Poh still approaches every product with the same original passion.
Because we firmly believe—
Good flavours can be passed down;
and only food made with genuine care can stand the test of time.
